California Assembly Suzette Valladares grew up in the San Fernando Valley and was elected to the California State Assembly in November. She represents the 38th District, which includes the Santa Clarita and Simi valleys as well as a northern portion of the San Fernando Valley. Her career of service included positions as a district representative for former congressman Buck McKeon, the executive director for Southern California Autism Speaks and the chief executive of Little Steps of Faith, a faith-based nonprofit preschool that provides child care to underserved families in the local community. She is now a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, Legislative Women’s Caucus and the Armenian Caucus. ALMA MATER: College of Canyons and also attended California State University - Northridge. FAVORITE BOOK: I love “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand, but “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald is probably my favorite book of all time. BUCKET LIST: Visit the holy land in Israel and hike Machu Picchu.
