Former Los Angeles City Councilmember Dennis P. Zine was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2001 and served 12 years representing the San Fernando Valley. He is ambassador to the 3rd L.A. Council District, having been appointed by Councilmember Bob Blumenfield. Zine retired as a sergeant from the L.A. Police Department but continues serving as a reserve officer, making this his 53rd year with the department. He serves on the board of many community organizations including Hope of the Valley, the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles Police Protective League and Val*Pac, or the San Fernando Valley Political Action Committee.
