Mayor of Simi Valley Keith Mashburn has served as mayor of Simi Valley since 2018; he was reelected in November. In the last year, he has coordinated the city’s response to the coronavirus, telling the Business Journal: “I’m here to assist businesses in being COVID compliant.” He sits on the board of the Association of Water Agencies Ventura County. The Mashburn family has owned and operated three retail businesses in Simi Valley: Mashburn Kawasaki, Java Island and Awards Specialties. An avid motorcyclist, Mashburn is a member of the Motorcycle Industry Council. He worked for 30 years at the Ventura County Fire Department, specializing in fire investigation. He retired in 2005 with the rank of battalion chief.
