Mayor of Burbank Robert Frutos is serving his second stint as mayor of Burbank. Last year he served as Burbank City Council’s liaison to the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority and he is on the board of the Valley Economic Alliance. Frutos worked for the Los Angeles Police Department for more than 28 years; his favorite assignment was as a youth services officer in South Central L.A. where he was in charge of an Explorer Scout program. After retirement he began his public service with an appointment in 2003 to the Burbank Police Commission. During his first term as mayor, his 2015 State of the City video won an Emmy Award. BEST ADVICE: Just show up and be on time. FAVORITE BOOK: “Who Moved my Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson. BUCKET LIST: Taking three months to drive the Alaska-Canadian Highway through Canada and into Alaska.
