Claudia Bill-de la Peña is no stranger to her current role as Thousand Oaks mayor. She has served as the city’s mayor in 2005, 2013 and 2017. Before voters elected Bill-de la Peña to Thousand Oaks City Council in 2002, the late former Mayor Edward Masry appointed her to the Planning Commission. Additional leadership positions by Bill-de la Peña have included three terms as Mayor Pro Tem. She has also devoted her time to ad hoc committees addressing such issues as homelessness, fire services and noise mitigation — all while residing in Thousand Oaks as a wife and mother.
