Cooper Communications Inc. Martin Cooper is president of public relations firm Cooper Communications in Encino. Previously, Cooper was senior vice president of marketing and communications for Playboy Enterprises. He also worked as Disneyland’s advertising and promotions manager. Cooper has authored four books, one of which was a compilation of essays first published in the Business Journal. His book “Read All About It! The San Fernando Valley: 19461970” won the CSUN Oviatt Library Award for the best nonfiction book about the Valley in 2016. In 2014, Cooper received the Fernando Award for civic volunteerism. BEST ADVICE: When I worked for Walt Disney, he said to me in response an off-the-wall idea I had: “A good idea doesn’t care where it comes from.” FAVORITE BOOK: An unfair question – I have so many. But if I HAVE to pick one: “A History of the English-Speaking Peoples” by Winston Churchill. BUCKET LIST: To live in Israel for six months.
